Guitar legend Slash (USA), one of today's most acclaimed indie bands, Midlake (USA), and folk punk artist Frank Turner (UK) will further strengthen Ruisrock's bill. Domestic additions include Jenni Vartiainen and Turisas.
Known for Guns 'N Roses and Velvet Revolver, guitar hero Slash released his solo debut in April. The album features special guest stars such as Dave Grohl, Ozzy Osbourne, Iggy Pop, Flea and other Guns 'N Roses musicians as well. It topped album charts all over the world and Slash's live band became one of the most wanted festival acts this summer.
Having broken through with "Roscoe" four years back, indie rock band Midlake will finally arrive in Finland. Described as a combination of The Flaming Lips and Fleetwood Mac, the band released their third, folk-oriented album "The Courage of Others" earlier this year.
After British hardcore punk band Million Dead split up in 2005, vocalist Frank Turner decided to focus on creating a solo career. The productive singer-songwriter has already released three albums of punk flavoured folk rock. His latest album "Poetry of the Deed" was released last autumn. Turner has toured, for example, with The Gaslight Anthem, The Offspring and Jaakko & Jay.
Slash and Midlake will perform at Ruisrock on Sunday, Frank Turner and Jenni Vartiainen on Friday and Turisas on Saturday. There will still be more additions to the bill.
PS: Slash is my favourite guitarist!!!
