Regina Spektor and Anti-Flag to Ruisrock

E-mail Print

Ruisrock's bill will be strengthened by folk/indie artist Regina Spektor (USA), politically active Anti-Flag (USA) and domestic alternative rock band Joensuu 1685. All these acts have been confirmed for Sunday.

After years of waiting, one of today's most significant female musicians, Regina Spektor, finally arrives in Finland. Her beautiful folk/indie songs sound at least as brilliant as the best masterpieces from Kate Bush, PJ Harvey or Tori Amos. With five studio albums behind her, Regina Spektor has toured with the Strokes, performed on some of the biggest festivals in the world from Coachella to Glastonbury and sold millions of records.

Founded over 20 years ago, melodic punk rock band Anti-Flag are known for their constant fight for human and animal rights and strictures against capitalism and the foreign policy of their native country, especially under Bush's reign. The band broke through with "Underground Network" album (2001) which made the hardcore scene pet an internationally known band. Anti-Flag's ninth full length "The People or the Gun" was released last year.

Tickets are available at the festival's webstore and at Tiketti and Lippupalvelu. Further additions to the bill will be announced later in spring.
