Ruisrock has confirmed new acts: heavy rock super star Ozzy Osbourne (UK), legendary ska band The Specials (UK) and boogie rock band Canned Heat (USA) who performed at Ruisrock already back in 1971. Daily schedules are now confirmed which means that day-tickets have become available.
Ozzy Osbourne's most renowned band Black Sabbath released their debut album forty years ago in 1970 - simultaneously with the first ever Ruisrock. The rest is history: Black Sabbath became a heavy classic, Ozzy moved in on a successful solo career in early 80s and in 2000, he starred in The Osbournes tv show. Nowadays, Ozzy Osbourne's shows include material from all stages of his career.
One of the most successful ska bands of all times, The Specials, were founded over thirty years ago. The group released two hit albums but split up in early 80s due to line-up changes. Three years ago, The Specials reunited and headlined Glastonbury. Known for their hit songs "Gangsters" and "Ghost Town", they are now heading for their first comeback tour which arrives at Ruisrock in summer.
The third new act, American Canned Heat are one of blues / boogie rock's most renowned names. The band were first seen at Ruisrock already in "crazy year" 1971 when over 100,000 people visited the festival. Canned Heat's performances at legendary Woodstock and Monterey made hippies fall in love with them and the band have since continued their long, meritorious career.
